Image
Since we were not able to send out Christmas cards this year, we are 'sending' one to you on our blog. We hope you have a very blessed holiday season as you prepare for the coming days of new opportunities to seek Him and share His Light and Love with others.  Merry Christmas  &   Happy New Year   ! "And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth,  even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth  by clear shining after rain." ~ II Samuel 23:4 ~

A Season of Celebration

Image
By Elisabeth  This whole season, from early November through late December, is filled with celebrations...celebrations of God's abundant blessings, celebrations of His Light and Love that was shared with mankind when He came so long ago, as well as celebrations of a few birthdays! Here is a catchup of our celebrations so far.  ~ Happy Thanksgiving ~ Thanksgiving was celebrated with Mama's folks down south. It was such a blessing to relax and treasure the family God has surrounded us with. This go-cart was a gift to us nieces and nephews years ago when we big ones were very small. Now, the younger ones enjoy the "old faithful"--with the exception that it required extra aid since it's motor had seen better days.  Daniel & Amanda are such a cute pair of playmates!  Daniel is trying out the fun ball-toss game built with coffee cans.  Caleb hones in on target practice.   We love Aunt Ro-Ro!!! A Season of Light

By Elisabeth         Living in a large family has given me a very real perspective about life. I do not dream of a fairytale wedding because I know that marriage goes far deeper. I look at "great ideas" though the eyes of practicality and nurturing maturity. I see babies as the next generation of men and women who will lead in tomorrow's battles.     In many ways, I would lose so much Biblical and spiritual inspiration if I were to step out as a single independent. I would not know the joy of waking up every morning and smiling at each of my eight sisters all crowded into the same room. I would not know the laughter that takes place around our over-crowded dinning table while sharing half of a chair with one sibling and half of a chair with another. I would not know the thrill of sneaking cookie dough to five brothers. I would not hear the "cafeteria" chatter at lunch and smile because they're all ours. I would miss out on the joy of squeezing into our

Boat Rides

By Anna Sometimes the greatest joys in life are the ones that are spur of the moment!  Such is what happened in our family when we found out that Papa suddenly had a free day and wanted to do something fun, other than "work on the house" :) Our original short notice plan was to go kaiaking, but due to the turn of the windy weather for the worse, that options closed. So... we decided to use that change of plans as an opportunity for a quality investment into an inflatable family boat. After the purchase, and a few more trips to the store for missing parts, and more ores, we launched into a few hours of shear fun, enjoying the water, the clear sky, even the wind...and just plain being together!  Here are a few snapshots of that special day: Testing the boat out Yes, A special outing isn't the same without special munchies :) *Just don't leave them sitting in the hot sun for a couple hours waiting for "that perfect time&quo

Evening of Music With Destiny Strings Studio

Image
Enjoy a glimpse of our special evening with Destiny Strings Music Studio. Anna's students put forth so much hard work and practice into the preparation of this and truly brought much delight to those who were present. We all agreed that this was the best recital yet!   Last-minute pep-talk from the teacher before entering the platform. There was a wonderful variety of music and skill levels. It was so enjoyable to see the youngest ones perform their pieces right alongside those who were further excelled. Each one gave it their best!  Joseph is a perfect display, here, of how each one stepped up, introduced his song, presented it with excellence, and bowed graciously in the success of his accomplishment. It was a pleasure to also audience several duets by friends, as well as siblings. No, the same little guy did not change shirts and perform twice! :) These twins were so cute to watch and did a fantastic job in their presentations.
