From the Desert to the Ocean...overnight!

By Anna and Elisabeth
We made it!!! By lunch time, we were at the beach!

Of coarse, it didn't take long for some to find their way into the waves! Caleb, pictured below, was the baby when we left California, so for the the last six children this was the first time they had experienced the mighty waves.

We were thrilled that our good friends, who were hosting us in the area, joined us on our second day at the beach. We were blessed to find a spot that was not very occupied by the public.

CHARGE!!! :)

While some raced waves, rode the boards, swam, and tasted saltwater (not on purpose), others enjoyed playing in the sand and watching the wet excitement.

Could we with ink the ocean fill, and were the skies of parchment made,
Were every stalk on earth a quill, and every man a scribe by trade
To write the love of God above would drain the ocean dry,
Nor could the scroll contain the whole, though stretched from sky to sky.
O love of God! How rich and pure, how measureless and strong!
It shall forevermore endure, the saints and angels' song.

Playing in the water.

Enjoying the fresh ocean air.

Catching waves.

Christina found a huge seaweed!

Back at the house, the children enjoyed the big trampoline!

We had so much fun with good friends and the big ocean, it was hard saying 'bye', but we were also eager to hit the road and see where the next part of our journey would take us.

"If I take the wings of the morning,
and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
Even there shall thy hand lead me,
and thy right hand shall hold me."
~ Psalm 139:9-10 ~
