Midnight Madness--A Whole-Family Game
Midnight Madness... If you can write numerical digits, it does not matter whether you are a little child or a senior adult, whether you have an outgoing personality or tend to be a more reserved introvert, you will be sure to find this game exciting and entertaining.
~ The Objective ~
Be the first to complete listing all the numbers from 1 to 100!
(*Note: They must be readable)
What you need:
All you need to begin is one pen, one dice,
two or more players and
a piece of paper for each player,
&
competitiveness and
good sportsmanship
How to begin:
When everyone is seated, one person takes the pen and the person to his left takes the dice. The first person begins writing the numerical digits, beginning at 1, and proceeds quickly until the pen is taken from him.
Meanwhile, the second person rolls the dice
until he gets a 6, at which point he passes the dice
clockwise, takes the pen, and begins to write the
numerical digits, beginning at 1.
This is continued around the group.
When the pen comes back to the first person,
he can pick up where he left off in
writing his numerical digits and continue.
All numbers must be readable, in order, and completed.
(i.e. If the pen is taken while you are in the middle of
writing a 5, then when your turn comes again, you must
complete the 5 before moving forward. If your 1 looks
like a 7, you must correct the digit before moving forward.
If, while writing 84, you realize that you skipped 23, you must
go back and add the missing number before continuing from 84.)
The first person to proclaim that they have reached 100
is pronounced the winner!
Their paper can then be submitted for scrutiny and
someone in the group may read the numbers aloud to
verify that all digits are present and distinguishable.
~ Have Fun! ~
Have fun with it! If you have already played 18 rounds
of listing numbers and want to play another time, but do not feel like writing 57--again!--then add variety and list all the letters
of the alphabet--upper and lower cases.
Cheer each other on! Whether it's the person with the pen,
or the one frantically rolling the dice, pick someone to urge "faster!" (*Hint: the person with the pen is getting closer to winning...)
For added excitement, play as a stress-relief after a
complicated day, or as an ice-breaker in a 'fridged' group,
or--true to it's name--at midnight!
Keep each other accountable! Don't let Sally get
away with an 8 that is really a 3...and if Joe skipped
42 but thinks he actually DID write it somewhere in
that scribble, help coax him to get it right!
Laugh! If you claimed to have made it to
the big, defining number, but everyone else says
your list is nothing but scribbles...
enjoy life and play again!
~ Caution ~
This game has been known to
brake pens
poke eyes
get loud
throw dice
and...
lose a chair!
"Then was our mouth filled with laughter,
and our tongue with singing: then said they...
The Lord hath done great things for them."
~ Psalm 126:2 ~
and our tongue with singing: then said they...
The Lord hath done great things for them."
~ Psalm 126:2 ~
Oh, this game is so intense! Certain members of our family (and some friends) make this game hazardous to everyone's health!! Do ya'lls fingers get scratched and bloody too? It's such an intense game!!! = )
