The Final Finale

By Anna & Elisabeth

As a grand finale to our trip, Papa took us to Grand Lake--the biggest and deepest natural glacier lake in Colorado, as well as the headwaters for the Colorado River which runs through the Grand Canyon.
Here, we rented a speedboat!

We had ridden big ferries, little canoes, and smaller kayaks, but the thrill was on when we got to ride this fast wave-maker!

There is nothing like being out away from the bustle of city life and being surrounded by nature--the sounds, scents, scenery, and serenity is an ointment to the soul.

It was quite chilly in those big hills! But it sure was beautiful!!!

On our way out, we had a picnic by one of the mountain rivers.

(Notice, what's missing? Everyone voted to be sure we would NOT have sandwiches--again!)

So, I suppose you could say we went up the west coast, then finished where the west begins.

"Thine, O Lord, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all."
